KALLISTO SFP to SFP Media Converter/Transponder

KALLISTO provides a very flexible conversion between any type and combination of SFP transceivers (multi-mode, single-mode, copper, CWDM, DWDM). Supported data rates range from 10 Mb/s to 3.125 Gbit/s. Device is protocol and data format transparent, providing 3R (Re-amplification, Re-shaping and Re-clocking) regeneration between optical module types.

The use of SFP optics modules provide wide range of possible services, including, OC-3/STM-1, OC12/STM-4, OC-48/STM-16, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 1G Fibre Channel, 2G Fibre Channel and different fibre types (single and multimode), wavelengths (850nm, 1310nm, 1550nm, CWDM, DWDM), and fibre reaches. Multirate and data transparency gives provide flexibility to meet the changing service demands without changing installed equipment.

Embedded HTTP server, TELNET server and SNMP agent allows configuration and monitoring of the device by standard Web browser and continuous monitoring from any management platforms equipped with SNMP client. Built-in SMTP service daemon allows to notify the operator in case of system failure. Device management is carried out using dedicated Ethernet port. KALLISTO supports SFP modules digital diagnostics, providing real-time access to information such as transceiver temperature and Tx/Rx optical power.
